The University of Rwanda states that it was established in 2013 under Law No 71/2013, merging fourteen existing institutions into one collegiate university. It teaches through colleges of Arts and Social Sciences; Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine; Business and Economics; Medicine and Health Sciences; Education; and Science and Technology. It reports 33,314 students, including 3,490 at master's and 745 at doctoral level.
