EPFL is a Swiss federal institute of technology. Its history pages state that the Ecole Speciale de Lausanne opened on 7 November 1853 and that on 1 January 1969 its successor became the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne. It lists 13 bachelor's and 29 master's programmes across six schools and colleges, with bachelor's studies usually running three years or 180 ECTS credits.

Tsinghua University states it was established in 1911, originally under the name Tsing Hua Imperial College. Its graduate admissions pages state that more than 30 master's and doctoral programmes are offered fully in English to international students.
Nanyang Technological University states it was inaugurated on 1 July 1991, when the Nanyang Technological Institute set up in 1981 was reconstituted and merged with the National Institute of Education. The university states it has 40,700 undergraduate and postgraduate students, taught in colleges of Business, Computing and Data Science, Engineering, Humanities Arts and Social Sciences, Medicine and Science.
The University of Hong Kong states it was incorporated in 1911 as a self-governing body of scholars and welcomed its first students in 1912, making it the territory's oldest institution of higher learning. The University of Tokyo states it was founded in 1877 and is the oldest and largest of Japan's national universities. Its own figures give 29,669 students, including 5,234 international students, as of December 2025. Teaching is organised in ten faculties, and the university lists graduate degree programmes taught entirely in English across medicine, engineering, science, agriculture, economics, information studies and public policy.
