Ludwig Maximilian University Munich traces its founding to 1472, when Duke Ludwig IX of Bavaria-Landshut established Bavaria's first university in Ingolstadt. Arizona State University is a public research university in metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona, teaching across several campuses and through ASU Online.
