The University of Birmingham is a public research university on a single large campus at Edgbaston in Birmingham, England, with a further campus in Dubai. It was granted its Royal Charter by Queen Victoria in 1900 and says more than 40,000 students from around the world study there each year. Its undergraduate portfolio spans some 43 subject areas, including medicine and dentistry, engineering, computer science, law, business and social sciences.
